Terms of Use
Updated 13 September 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and DarkMap ("we", "us") covering the DarkMap mobile application and this website. By installing or using the app you accept them in full. If you do not accept them, do not use DarkMap.
1. What DarkMap is
DarkMap selects a coordinate near you and presents a fictional record about it. Everything the app tells you about a place is invented for entertainment. It is not history, news, research, or a statement of fact about any real person, place, property or event, and it must not be relied on for any decision.
2. Going outside is entirely your decision
DarkMap never instructs, requires or encourages you to travel anywhere. A reading is complete on your screen. If you choose to visit a coordinate, you do so of your own free will and entirely at your own risk.
You remain solely responsible for: your own safety and the safety of anyone with you; obeying all laws, signs, closures and property rights; assessing terrain, weather, traffic, wildlife, darkness and any other hazard; and for any minor in your care. Do not trespass. Do not enter restricted, private, unstable or dangerous places. Do not use the app while driving or operating machinery.
The app attempts to exclude military zones, airports, prisons and similar restricted areas from its search using third-party map data. This filtering is best-effort and is not guaranteed to be complete or accurate. A coordinate appearing in the app is never a statement that a place is safe, lawful or open to the public.
3. No warranty
DarkMap is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or uninterrupted availability. The app depends on services we do not control — map data, routing, satellite positioning and mobile networks — and may be unavailable, delayed or wrong at any time.
4. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we accept no liability whatsoever for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, personal injury, death, property damage, arrest, fine, prosecution or any other loss arising out of or connected with your use of DarkMap or your presence at any location shown by it.
Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer protection law, or liability that cannot be excluded by law.
5. Apple
Apple Inc. is not a party to these terms and has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance or support for DarkMap. Apple gives no warranty of any kind, is not responsible for the app or its content, and is not liable for any claim relating to it. In the event of any failure of the app to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price; to the maximum extent permitted by law Apple has no other obligation. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
6. Purchases
DarkMap is free to use with one reading every 24 hours. Unlimited readings are a single, one-time in-app purchase — there is no subscription and nothing renews. The purchase is processed by Apple and tied to your Apple ID, so you can restore it on your other devices with "Restore purchases".
Payments, billing and refunds are handled by Apple under the Apple Standard End User License Agreement, which also applies to your use of the app. Refund requests go to Apple, not to us. We may change future pricing; a purchase you have already made is not affected.
7. Your account and data
DarkMap creates an anonymous account for you. We do not ask for your name, email address or phone number. You may choose a username. You can delete your account and everything attached to it at any time from Settings inside the app; deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. What we store and why is described in the Privacy and Data Policy.
8. Acceptable use
Do not break, overload, scrape or reverse engineer the service, and do not use it to harass anyone or to break the law. We may suspend or end access that does.
9. Changes
We may change the app, its features or these terms. Material changes are published on this page with a new date, and the in-app policy is re-presented for your acceptance. Continuing to use DarkMap after that means you accept the updated terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without prejudice to mandatory consumer rights in your country of residence.
